Wild foods and medicine of Point Reyes – A Wild Weekend Adventure

Immerse yourself in the gorgeous spring bloom, learn how to identify plants and use them for food and medicine. We will visit beautiful trails, rendezvous with local plants, prepare herbal medicines and create a delicious wild food brunch. Join us for a fun-filled weekend and deepen your connection to nature.
We will gather Friday night to get to know each other, go over the class itinerary and learn basic botany including flower anatomy, terminology, plant family characteristics, online botanical resources and much more.
We will spend Saturday slowly exploring the fascinating plants of a wildflower filled trail. Saturday night we will start to process our acorns that we eat for Monday’s brunch. Afterwards there will be a slide show to on the major plant families. Later, students will hone their plant identification skills by keying out selected plants.
Sunday we will get back to the trails to meet more amazing plants and learn their uses and stories
Sunday night, we will learn to prepare herbal tinctures, teas and oils.
Monday morning we will prepare and eat a wild food feast of acorn pancakes (gluten free is available). For more information or to register click here
