Wild Foods and Medicines of Devil’s Gulch – A Plant Walk
October 12, 2014 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Taught By Ethnobotanist Jolie Egert Elan
Wild foods and medicines abound in Marin. Join us for this fun-filled educational walk and connect deeper to nature and yourself. We’ll discuss how to identify common plants and use them for food and medicine. Learn how to distinguish useful plants from their poisonous cousins. We will discuss the cycles and seasons of nature as we root into the autumn. Come immerse yourself in the myths, medicine and magic of nature’s bounty at Devil’s Gulch. The walk will be friendly and slow paced. Bring a lunch, water and comfortable walking shoes. You might also want to bring a notebook, a magnifying glass (or loupe) and camera. We’ll meet at the Devil’s Gulch turn off at 10 AM sharp.
The park is 15 miles / 30 minutes west of San Rafael on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in Lagunitas, CA. Devil’s Gulch is 1 mile west of the ‘Camp Taylor’ entrance. Park in the large pull-out before walking across the street.
WHEN: Sunday, October 12th from 10am to 2pm
