Wisdom of the Oaks in Golden Gate Park
September 18, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Join oak lover and ethnobotanist Jolie Elan for a fun walk that explores the wild foods and medicines growing in Golden Gate Park. This class is hosted by the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco. On this easy paced autumn walk we will pay special attention to the ecology, myth and food of the mighty oak. Native Californians and ancient Jews alike ate acorns and honored the oaks in our stories and mythology. We will prepare and eat acorn treats. If you have always wanted to learn how to prepare and eat acorns this could be your chance. To find out where to meet and to register click here
